One of the biggest names competing at IBJJF Europeans 2024 is WNO Welterweight Champion Mica Galvao, who will compete as a middleweight in his IBJJF return.
Galvao, who will also take on Kenta Iwamoto at WNO 22 on Feb. 9, prepared for his IBJJF Paris matches by warming up with Piter Frank, a flying submission specialist.
Galvao, already the No.2-ranked No-Gi pound-for-pound athlete in the world and No.9-ranked gi middleweight, took some tips from the veteran Frank before his first match on Jan. 26 at the Judo Institute in Paris.
Galvao, the No.2 seed in the Adult, Male, Black, Middle weight class, is scheduled to have his first match at 7:01 a.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 26. If he wins, will advance to a match on Saturday at 5:54 a.m. ET. The first bracket championship match is schedule two hours later.
The semis and finals will be later that day.
