Jason Jackson recently criticized his upcoming opponent Ramazan Kuramagomedov’s MMA gym.
Jackson is set to defend his Bellator MMA welterweight title against Kuramagomedov in the main event at Bellator Champions Series Dublin on June 22. While Jackson trains at Kill Cliff FC, Kuramagomedov trains at the rival South Florida gym American Top Team (ATT).
Jackson praised the unity in his own gym and implied that ATT is divided by cultural and racial differences.
“We have everything at my gym. There is nothing we are short of,” Jackson said during a recent Bellator media call. “Everyone there is motivated. The thing about our gym is that we are one. It doesn’t matter if we come from a different culture or a different race. We are one. We are not divided like American Top Team.”
Jackson has been undefeated in his last eight fights since a split decision loss to Ed Ruth in his Bellator debut in 2019. He won the Bellator welterweight title with a TKO victory over Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 301 in November 2023 and secured a TKO win over former PFL champ Ray Cooper at the PFL vs. Bellator champions card in February. Jackson aims to stay active if he defeats Kuramagomedov.
“I always want to be active. Now I am in the position where I have the ball in my court,” he said. “So, I’m going to continue making a roll because I may never wake up tomorrow. I’m going to continue to work over and over. I’m going to continue working and never stop. I will keep on fighting as much as I can because that’s what I love doing. Every time I get inside the cage, it’s like I can’t believe I am here.”
